I ensure that the content on my websites is easy for clients to manage through WordPress. Instead of using only the default content editor, I carefully structure content with custom posts and custom fields.

I tend to avoid shortcodes as I don’t feel they’re user-friendly enough for most clients. Clients also won’t need to worry about image cropping or resizing, I’ll ensure that their bespoke WP theme takes care of that.

Additionally, I restrict client access to only the necessary parts of the WordPress dashboard.

This approach makes for intuitive content management and minimises the risk of clients inadvertently breaking the website.
